The Local Government Unit of Lidlidda, under the able and compassionate leadership of Municipal Mayor Atty. Sherwin P. Tomas, together with the Sangguniang Bayan Members headed by Vice Mayor James Sacayanan, proudly celebrated the successful implementation of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) for thirty-three deserving young individuals of our municipality.

Originally, only fifteen slots were allocated for the program. However, recognizing the eagerness, potential, and aspirations of all thirty-three applicants, our Municipal Mayor and Sangguniang Bayan Members made an extraordinary decision, to ensure that no student would be left behind.

Driven by their genuine concern for the youth and their unwavering commitment to investing in the future of Lidlidda, all thirty-three applicants were given the opportunity to participate in the program. While fifteen students were funded through the LGU allocation, the remaining beneficiaries were personally supported by our municipal officials, making it possible for every applicant to gain valuable work experience and practical skills through service in the different offices of the municipality.

The culmination of the program was marked by the payout of salaries and allowances to the SPES beneficiaries, which was supervised by SBM Gemma Aguirre, Chairperson of the Committee on Education, together with Ms. Edna Balingoay, Municipal Treasurer, and Ms. Maryrose Aguirre, PESO Manager. Their dedication ensured the smooth and successful distribution of the students’ well-earned benefits.

More than providing temporary employment, this initiative reflects the LGU’s steadfast belief in the potential of the youth. It is a testament to the compassion and commitment of our local leaders, who chose to open doors of opportunity rather than turn aspiring students away. Through their support, thirty-three young Lidliddeños were empowered, inspired, and given a meaningful opportunity to learn, grow, and prepare for a brighter future.
